Register now: Acting locally for a fair and inclusive European Green Deal

Within the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW)—a pivotal event in Europe's renewable energy landscape—Sun4All is holding a hybrid policy session focused on localised action: the session titled "Acting locally for a fair and inclusive European Green Deal." Scheduled for June 13 from 14:00-15:30 PM CEST, this session embodies the spirit of grassroots empowerment within the broader context of EUSEW's mission.

At the heart of the European Green Deal lies a profound shift towards sustainability, one that necessitates active involvement from local and regional stakeholders. These actors play a key role in translating ambitious goals into tangible, community-driven initiatives. Yet, their success is contingent upon robust collaboration and inclusive governance structures that prioritise fairness and equity.

Moderated by Marine CORNELIS, Founder of Next Energy Consumer, the session promises dynamic engagement and practical insights. Anchored around three key discussion topics—opportunities, challenges, and solutions—the format mirrors a "world café," inviting participants to contribute their perspectives and experiences.

Distinguished panelists, including Nives DELLA VALLE from the Joint Research Centre, Max JOEL from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, Pau PAÑELLA from the Local Energy Agency of Osona, and Petya PISHMISHEVA from Climate Alliance (representing the Covenant of Mayors), will share their expertise and insights. Together, they will explore avenues for leveraging local action to advance the principles of fairness and inclusivity within the European Green Deal framework.

Together, let us seize this opportunity to build a more just, inclusive, and resilient Europe, one local initiative at a time.
